Puerto del Carmen, located in the centre-south of the island, 10 minutes from the international airport, is the main tourist area in Lanzarote.
It went from being a small fishing village with hardly any inhabitants to become of the most sought after in the Canary Islands.
Its great success is mainly due to the more than 6km of beaches along its coasts, to the tranquillity of its waters and the peaceful and welcoming natural surroundings that it has managed to create.
And few places give everything included. Everything regarding rest, relaxation, infrastructure, services, unbeatable landscapes, beaches, ideal weather, sports, leisure and free time enjoyment, identity and traditions... etc.
But Puerto del Carmen is only the littoral of the municipality of Tías, one of the 7 municipalities on the island.
A village full of history, modelled by its implacable nature, location and the volcanic origins of Lanzarote. That’s why the villages of Conil, Mácher, La Asomada, Tegoyo, Masdache, La Geria and the village of Tías itself, truly show the identity of the Lanzarote peoples, the rich and difficult history of its people, traditions, beliefs, lifestyle, past and legends.
